1 tsp. black pepper
Salt to taste
1 small onion (sliced)
1/2 scotch bonnet pepper (seeds removed)
1 small sweet pepper
1 small tomato
1 tablespoon olive oil (use your choice)
1 peg garlic (crushed)
Small amount water (optional)
Wash cabbage and carrot in salt water (to remove worm eggs if any) Slice cabbage leaves into pieces. scrape carrot, then shred it. Mix carrot and cabbage together then season with all ingredients. Toss then leave to marinate for five minutes.
In a sauce pan, add olive oil to heat, add cabbage stir and cover pot. Allow cabbage to generate its own water. Stir and cover. Steam cabbage to suit your taste, some people like the crunchy taste while some like it saggy. Adding water is optional, but you can if you want a saggy taste.
