Cow cod soup is an aphrodisiac made bull genitals. One of Jamaican authentic dishes.
2 cow cod (washed with vinegar, cut into small pieces)
1 cho-cho (peeled,washed, diced)
2 Irish potatoes (peeled,washed,diced)
2 medium carrots (peeled, washed, diced)
2 green scotch bonnet peppers
2 packs cock soup mix
1 teaspoon white rum
2 stalks scallion
1 sprig thyme
salt to taste (optional)
1 lb. pumpkin (peeled, washed, diced)
6 pimento seeds
2 turnips (peeled, washed, diced)
2 cocoes (peeled, washed, diced)
6 pegs garlic (crushed)
2-3 quart water
Put water in a big pot to boil for. Turn off heat, add cow cod to boiled water for ten minutes (this process is called scald) after ten minutes, remove cow cod from water and allow to cool then cut into small pieces.
In a large pot add 2-3 quarts water put on heat and add cow cod to it, and allow to boil until cooked. Add all the ingredients to the pot excluding the rum, scallion, thyme, hot peppers and cock soup mix. Cover pot and allow vegetable to cook, then add the cock soup mix, hot peppers, scallion and thyme, add salt if needed. Stir and cover and allow to simmer for ten minutes then add the rum, stir again cover and simmer until soup becomes a thick to your suit. Remove from heat and serve hot.
