How to soak red kidney beans before cooking

You can soak the beans for 24 hours or overnight.
Soaking dried kidney beans
Before soaking, sort through the beans to remove tiny stones or debris.
Place the beans into a container and rinse well with water
Add enough tap water to cover the beans by 2 inches
Cover the container and place in the fridge. To prevent the beans from fermenting, refrigerate them while they soak.

How to soak red kidney beans fast! (quick-soaked method)
When time is of the essence, use this quick-soaked technique, Add the beans in a pot with 2 cups of water, cover and bring to a boil on high heat. Remove from heat and set aside for 1 hour. After an hour had passed, discard the water and rinse the beans with tap water. Although this process saves time, quick-soaked beans tends to break up during cooking. so, if you want the beans to remain whole, use the long-soaked method.  Proceed to cook the beans until tender into 2 cups of water and a clove of garlic on high heat.
