Recipe for mixed herbs. Herbs and spices are the basis of the seasonings and condiments that compliment and enhance our food. Most Jamaicans used mixed herbs to season our meat, and you might be wondering what are mixed herbs. Mixed herbs are a mix of different dried herbs.
Herbs along with spices enhance the taste and smell of food. Lets blend some herbs together. Mix equal parts of these herbs:
2tbsp. Dried thyme leaves
2 tbsp. Dried Rosemary
2 tbsp. Dried Basil
2 tbsp. Dried Marjoram
2 tbsp. Dried Parsley
If you have Oregano and sage, add two tablespoons of each to the mixture as well.
Mix well and store mixed herbs in an air-tight container in your kitchen cupboard (Pantry). Use one teaspoonful of mixed herbs to season your meat (chicken, pork, beef, lamb, duck, turkey, oxtail, etc.)
