Boiled Jamaican peanut soup recipe
2 pounds raw peanut
1 pound Irish potatoes
1 medium size carrot
1 pound cocoa
1/2 pound pumpkin
2 stalks scallion
1 sprig thyme
1 green scotch bonnet hot pepper
salt to taste
Wash and put peanut to boil until tender. Add pumpkin, carrot, Irish potatoes, cocoa, to pot. Stir cover then allow vegetables to cook. Add salt, scallion thyme and hot pepper to pot cover and allow it to shimmer for twenty minutes.
