8 Useful cheese tips

There are numerous varieties of cheeses. Here are some useful tips about cheese. Cheese boards

The easiest way to grate cheese is to grate it immediately after taking it out of the refrigerator.

Grate dry cheese and keep in a covered container. Excellent for cooking

Cutting cheese from the centre and pushing the edges together prevents the cheese from drying

To keep cheese from hardening: wrap cheese in a cloth sprinkled with vinegar; it won't pickle it, but it will keep it from hardening

To prevent cheese from sticking while grating: rub a small amount of cooking oil on the grater or processor blade.

To keep mould off cheese: wipe cheese with vinegar and put 2 sugar cubes in an airtight container with the cheese.

To make cotton cheese last longer, invert the container when storing in the refrigerator


Here is recipe with cottage and ricotta cheese

Healthy Platter


1 hard-boiled egg

1 Roma tomato (or use what you have)

1/4 cup tofu, diced

2 tbsp. tomato juice

2 tsp. chopped parsley

1/2 cup cottage cheese

1/2 cup ricotta cheese

2 slices of cantaloupe

1 slice watermelon

1 small cluster of green grapes

1 small cluster of purple grapes

4 lettuce leaves



slice hard-boiled egg. Slice tomato without cutting completely to the bottom.


Place 1 egg slice between each tomato wedge and set aside.


Mix tofu, tomato juice, and parsley in a bowl.


Arrange lettuce leaves in a serving dish and place cheese over the lettuce leaves. Spread the other ingredients over the lettuce leaves and cheese in a colourful arrangement
