Peppered Shrimp Jamaican style

jamaican peppered shrimp

Peppered shrimp is popular in Jamaica, especially in Middle Quarters, ST. Elizabeth. Peppered shrimp is spicy and salt-ish but you can cut back on the spiciness and salt. Jamaican-style peppered shrimp is mouth-watering and easy to prepare.

1 lb. shrimp

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. all-purpose seasoning

Crushed red pepper seeds (optional)

Scotch Bonnet pepper seeds

  1. Wash shrimp properly, drain and pat dry, using paper towel.
  2. Put a medium-size pot on medium heat to be hot.
  3. Put the shrimp in the hot pot and stir. Add the salt, stir. add the all-purpose, stir . Add the crushed pepper flakes and the scotch bonnet pepper seeds, stir.

Shrimp has its natural flavor. Therefore, I used only all-purpose seasoning to give it some spice as well as salt and hot pepper seeds to give it a spicy flavor. Shrimp released its own juice. Simmer the shrimp and let it dry, (simmer for about 4 minutes).
