Cool and refreshing carrot beetroot drink. Beet roots are naturally sweet in taste and packs with a plethora of benefits to the body. Raw beetroots are crunchy in texture and turn soft and buttery when they are cooked. Apart from being boiled and baked, the roots are also a primary component in many salads. If you want to get the health benefits of beetroot, eat it raw or in a salad.
12 carrots, scraped, washed, tops and tips removed
2 small beetroots, washed
2 cups water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. grated nutmeg
Wash and scrape carrots then removed head and tips. Wash beetroots then peel. Cut beetroots and carrots into chunks (to help the blender's blade)
Put carrots and beetroots into a blender, add enough water to cover. Blend on high speed until well combined. Pour mixture through a fine sieve strainer and again through a piece of cheese cloth.
Sweeten with condensed milk, add vanilla and nutmeg. Stir. Serve chilled
