How to cook white rice Jamaican style. This is how rice was traditional cook in Jamaica back in the days. This method of cooking the prefect rice that we called Shelly rice in Jamaica was passed on to me by my dear beloved great grand mother.
2 cups rice
1 tablespoon Chiffon margarine
1 cup water
salt to taste
Wash rice until water runs clear. Put rice in the sun to dry. Cover the container with the rice with a plate cover or mesh to prevent flies or other insects from getting in. If the sun is not shining in your area, wash rice at least two hours before ready to cook and leave on the kitchen countertop to air. Watch video for the rest of the recipe
