The season for hunting game birds begins this Saturday
The 2022 game bird hunting season will begin on Saturday, with hunters able to hunt four different types of birds. According to the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), the following birds are legal to hunt:
zenaida dove or pea dove
white-winged dove
white-crowned pigeon or baldpate
mourning dove or long-tailed pea dove
The season will end on September 25th. NEPA has issued a warning that hunting is prohibited within game reserves or sanctuaries, forest reserves, the Blue and John Crow Mountains National Parks, and within 50 meters of their respective boundaries.
The total bag limit for each hunting session is 20 birds
