These vanilla cupcakes are a classic and versatile treat that are perfect for any occasion. Whether you're making them for a birthday party, afternoon tea, or just a sweet snack, they're sure to be a hit
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk, at room temperature
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Scoop the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling each liner about 2/3 full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
Let the cupcakes cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, decorate the cupcakes with your favorite frosting and toppings, and enjoy!
