Soursop Lime Juice Recipe
July 25, 2023
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe soursop
- 2 green limes, juiced
- Your favorite sweetener (e.g., granulated sugar)
- 3 cups filtered water
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/3 tsp. grated nutmeg
Directions:
- Wash the soursop thoroughly to remove any dirt or impurities.
- Using a sharp knife, carefully remove the skin of the soursop and discard it. Cut the soursop into smaller pieces to make it easier to handle.
- Place the soursop pieces in a container and add 3 cups of filtered water.
- With clean hands and short fingernails, gently squeeze the soursop pulp to release the juice. Continue doing this for about 4 minutes to extract as much juice as possible.
- Once the juice has been extracted, strain off the soursop juice using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a separate bowl or pitcher. You can use a spoon to press down on the pulp to extract even more juice.
- Avoid juicing the soursop pulp for a second time, as this may add more water and weaken the juice's flavor and consistency.
- Sweeten the soursop juice to your taste preference using your favorite sweetener. Start with a small amount and adjust as needed.
- Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor of the juice.
- Add the freshly grated nutmeg to give the juice a delightful aroma and taste.
- Refrigerate the soursop lime juice for a refreshing chilled drink, or serve it over ice for immediate enjoyment.
Enjoy your homemade soursop lime juice! It's a delicious and tropical treat perfect for hot days or as a delightful thirst quencher anytime.
