Canadian Man's Body Found in Clarendon, Suspected Robbery Motive
The lifeless body of Merrick Aries, a 43-year-old Canadian resident, was discovered in Salt River, Clarendon, on a Tuesday morning, with multiple gunshot wounds. The gruesome find was made in a wooded area at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Mr. Aries had arrived on the island on October 14, landing at Sangster International Airport in St. James. His planned departure date was October 30.
According to investigators, it is believed that Mr. Aries may have been lured to the Clarendon area, where he fell victim to a robbery that turned deadly. His rented vehicle was also found at the scene of the crime.
It's noteworthy that this particular area in Clarendon has a reputation for being utilized by criminals engaged in drug-related activities and acts of violence. Police are now actively probing the incident to uncover more details.
