  • 6 dry coconuts

  1. Prepare Coconuts:

    • Remove the coconut meat from the shell.
    • Wash the coconut meat thoroughly.
    • Cut the coconut meat into small, manageable pieces.
  2. Blending:

    • Place the cut coconut pieces into a food processor.
    • Blend the coconut without adding any water. The goal is to create a creamy coconut paste.
  3. Extracting Coconut Milk:

    • Transfer the blended coconut paste into a nut bag or cheesecloth.
    • Squeeze out the coconut juice by pressing and extracting the liquid. This process separates the milk from the fiber.
  4. Straining:

    • Further strain the extracted coconut milk using a fine-mesh strainer. This helps remove any remaining solid particles, ensuring a smoother consistency.
  5. Final Check:

    • Optionally, you can strain the coconut milk once more to achieve a purer liquid.
  6. Storage:

    • Store the pure coconut milk in a clean, airtight container. Refrigerate if not using immediately.

  • The resulting coconut milk may be in a smaller quantity than if water was added.  However, the emphasis here is on quality over quantity.
  • This pure coconut milk is rich and concentrated, offering a robust coconut flavor. Use it judiciously in recipes, as a little goes a long way.

Enjoy the natural and authentic taste of homemade pure coconut milk!
